We’re looking for qualitative UX Researchers who thrive in ambiguity and love bringing clarity through human stories. Whether you’re just getting started or have years of experience, we’re interested in people who:

This is a remote, hourly/project-based contract position. You’ll work with our global team and our clients—mostly tech companies—on a variety of research initiatives from exploratory to evaluative.

Researcher Job Description

  • Title: Researcher

    Level: Early Career to Senior

    Location: Remote

    Type: Hourly or Project-based contract

    • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define research goals and study plans

    • Design and execute research using methods like interviews, diary studies, usability tests, ethnographies, etc.

    • Develop screeners, discussion guides, and engaging activities to uncover meaningful insights

    • Moderate remote and (occasionally) in-person sessions across cultures and languages

    • Synthesize findings into compelling narratives and business-ready reports

    • Present research insights to stakeholders with clarity and impact

    • Passionate about human-centered research and technology that respects diverse needs

    • Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptive—you enjoy “figuring it out” as you go

    • Empathic and deeply interested in people and cultures

    • A clear communicator in both writing and speaking

    • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing your own time and projects remotely

    • Some professional experience in UX research (2+ years for mid-level, 5+ for senior)

    • Fluency in English; other languages are a big plus (international applicants welcome!)

    • Familiarity with collaboration tools (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Zoom, etc.)

    • Portfolio or case studies showing your research process and impact

    • Experience working on international or cross-cultural research projects

    • Background in psychology, anthropology, sociology, or design

    • Familiarity with quantitative tools or mixed methods

    • Remote, freelance contractor

    • Paid hourly or per project (rates based on experience and project scope)

    • Flexible hours, but must have availability for client meetings in Pacific Time

    • Can be USA-based or internationally-based
